About the Artist

Mary Conway has forged her current fine art career from decades of working in the professional art world by selling, promoting, educating and making art.

With a long and flourishing career of over twenty years as a Corporate Art Consultant in Denver, Mary used her skills as a facilitator to bridge the gap between the art world and the business community. She has helped artists launch and establish their careers through her representation and consultation while creating a stimulating art enhanced environment for her clients.

Both PBS TV and the Denver Symphony were the beneficiaries of Mary’s fund raising capabilities. Her chairmanships of these organizations helped to raise many thousands of dollars through the sale of art.

Mary’s degree in Art History from the University of Colorado and her work at the Denver Art Museum in adult education bring a depth to her understanding of how fundamental art is for the development and enrichment of the human experience. She continues to facilitate art educational programs with workshops both in Arizona and Montana.

Today, Mary continues to be a consultant for Seattle-based Illuminata Art Glass Design, as well as, a set designer for the Whitefish Theatre Company in Whitefish, Montana.

With all her years of experience, Mary is winning awards while creating and selling her own work in galleries, juried exhibitions and through commissions.

Artist Statement

Making art is like being on an archaeological dig. I’m looking for answers to the mysteries of life. I am responding to the layers as they are being revealed through objects, memories, colors, experiences, textures, emotions ......... everything that impacts me consciously or unconsciously surfaces in the most surprising ways. All of these discoveries are precious artifacts formed by our human experience over the eons as we interact with the great forces of the Creative Universe. My hope is that the work I do touches the viewer in that sacred place of mystery and gratitude.
